PR vs. Advertising

Well this is my second post and I felt like talking about advertising seeing that it plays a vital role in influencing customers to like or buy products and services of a certain brand, so the following post will basically inform you guys to know whether advertising is really effective or not using Public Relations.

Many people are blown away by a brand that which they consider to be the best, so now what happens if a new brand is introduced to them through advertising, what would they do?  Check the new brand out and give it a try or stick with their old one. We’ll all this will be determined by how that brand markets itself to the public and if they have Good advertising to go with it. Advertising can be really effective that’s if it is executed and researched.  kennethpeter.files.wordpress.com/2010/02
 PR and advertising
Now let me go in-depth about using PR to advertise, you see PR and advertising go hand in hand but they are completely two different things. PR is focused more on communicating with the media. You can see more at http://www.ipr,.org.uk. Adverting on the other hand deals with promoting products and it also needs creativity, so you see two different things indeed. What do we mean when we say advertising using PR? We actually trying to say that PR is a cost effective way of setting up your story and simpler way to advertise.
why use PR
As I’ve mentioned above that is a more cost effective way to advertise and many business prefer using PR rather than advertising itself because they know that with PR their massages will be communicated in a good way. Please learn more http://yankeeper.com/why-use-public-relations. So far with the details that have included I can say that advertising is really effective using PR because public relations in a way are able to influence and persuade the general public to actually consider buying or liking a band. We all know the job of PRPs right? and for me it is the best way to advertise.
 PR or Advertising?
A lot of businesses get confused in not knowing what to go with either PR or advertising to promote their products and services. I really don’t blame them in this case because as a business you want the best to satisfy your customers’ needs and that includes choosing which form of adverting to use that  will make you or brake you. All I can say is that public relations is more credible than the best placed ad, at least that’s what I think.

The Ladder to study PR

1. Is Public Relations for you?
We all have different dreams as we grow up and there comes a time in life where you start to know and be clear with what you want to do as in, what you want to study and preference of work. As an individual you should be able to identify your strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes. That way you will be able to know if you are in the right field of study or not, the only way find out is know yourself and what you want. please learn more on www.greenbanana.wordpress.com/2010/08/27

2. Are you a good Communicator?
As a public relations practitioner, you will be doing a lot of talking for example your media conferences or radio interviews. When studying, you must be an excellent communicator, you see when you’re able to communicate effectively let’s say with your external stakeholders, as a practitioner it is your duty to build their image by talking for them so by doing that, you give your company or brand credit and good publicity. Communication in PR is essential and should be your one of your strengths as a PR student, if not then Public Relations isn't for you. want to know more please visit this webpage www.prnewsonline.com

3. Good writing communication skills
A Public Relations Practitioner as we know among other duties like talking in media conferences, writing will be one of those duties. Public Relations Practitioners do a lot of writing, E.g. newsletters, blogging , to name but a few and as you are still studying PR, make sure if you know that you are not a good writer yet, find time to write about anything you can think of, research about stories as you all know what they say “Practice makes perfect. See more http://marketing.about.com/od/pr_writing/

4. Do u cope well under pressure?
Now this is a part that I personally feel is important as a Public Relations student to know. PR is a lot of work, the ability to work under pressure and to multitask is important. Most PR practitioners are or should be flexible in way and so should you’ yes you’re still students but all these aspects must be identified by you before entering the corporate world or even before getting a job.

5. Establish what your expectations of PR are

What would you expect as a PR practitioner? You see as a student studying PR, there are a lot of questions that I’m certain that you ask yourself because PR is not just about being glamorous, and attending non-stop events but rather, it also involves hard work and dedication an also challenging as time goes on.  www.prsageorgia.org
